TECSUN R-9700DX is an analog dual conversion radio receiver for listening to FM, AM / Medium Wave (MW) and Shortwave (SW) frequency bands.
This radio uses a traditional analog integrated circuit and is a good performer with high sensitivity and selectivity. You can connect a shortwave or FM antenna to the external antenna socket (3.5mm / 1/8 inch) and listen to FM-stereo through earphones. R-9700DX has a display backlight for convenient nighttime usage, and the kickstand at the back allows for the radio to sit at a an angle for easy viewing of the display whilst listening.

This is a really fun manual tuning radio. I find it great for doing quick checks on broadcast band activity. My only gripe is the tuning knob which is a little stiff and the dial calibration is a little off. The dial lighting on the other hand is supercool and the external antenna jack is very welcomed.

Receiver pleasant sound and decent sensitivity in almost all bands. The option of permanent lighting is an unusual plus in receivers of its cost. Cons: The alignment of the dial could be improved so that you do not have to check the frequency with a digital receiver next to it. That shortcoming is unforgivable for a brand like Tecsun. Indeed, this is an analog radio. I feel nostalgic about the tuning operation. Also, both sensitivity and selectivity are good. The last thing is that the dial lighting color is orange and always lighting possible. It is designed to tickle people's heart very much. Tecsun seems to be very familiar with the weakness of radio enthusiasts.
