Good For Casual Listening as Stated by Anon-Co
First of all; thanks to Anna of Anon-Co for her speedy replacement of a faulty example of DE29. What excellent service! The DE29 is a small radio. It is essentially a simple DSP radio with a MP3 player. Its radio performance is fair. It suffers from noise due to a lack of internal shielding. However, it does manage to pull in a good range of SW stations using its external aerial. Unfortunately, it also suffers from breakthrough from local AM stations in my area. Taken to a rural location, I was able to receive many international stations on SW and also some of the low powered German 49mb transmitters. FM is great. AM reception was fair to good. Concerning the MP3 player; this had a great sound but you really needed to study the instructions to use it! I tried using both the TF card and a USB key and this worked ok. The little speaker provides a surprisingly good sound. Asked to do a comparison; I would rate it between the PL310et (highest )and Tivdio V-115 (lowest). As stated by Anon-Co, the DE29 is best for casual listening.
