TECSUN PL-880 is a portable PLL DSP multiband receiver that can receive FM, Longwave (LW), Medium Wave (MW) and Shortwave (SW) frequency bands and is Single Sideband (SSB) capable.
This radio receiver is equipped with an analog High-IF circuit and DSP triple conversion decoding technology. The DSP microchip digitizes the analog radio signal which, in combination with the PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) circuitry, greatly improves the radio's sensitivity, selectivity, S/N ratio and anti-interference capability.
PL-880 is packed with features, comes with independent tuning and fine-tuning knobs, multiple AM IF bandwidth filters, the Auto Sorting Memory feature, and is fitted with a Class AB type power amplifier and ultra-dynamic full range speaker. Like other Tecsun models, it also comes with a variety of "hidden" features.

I hook mine up to my Yamaha receiver. Just awesome. Shipping was excellent. I bought the PL 368 from here too. I got review on that one as well. PL 880 with AN-48x for AM and long wire for shortwave is super. I'm 60 years old and played with shortwave radios when I was kid. I got back into it since I'm retired now. Radios sure have changed! LOL Amazing signal strength for their size. I'm really impressed. Can't go wrong for the money. Good sound quality plus features. I like the fact I can hook it up to my Yamaha. I live in rural Texas. We only have two AM stations. I get Dallas and San Antonio easy with AN-48x. I live 250 miles from San Antonio and about 300 miles from Dallas. I like to listen to Coast to Coast out of San Antonio, iHeart Radio WOIA. Super radio. Shortwave is excellent too. Pick up Russia out of my back yard using just the regular antenna!

This receiver deserves five stars. It takes some time to get the maximum out of it but once you are familiar with the radio it reveils what it is capable of. However, the sync detector is not its strongest feature. That is, not if used together with the wider filters. Set the filter to its lowest possible position. Furthermore AM (medium wave) is rather deaf. So I strongly advice to order the AN-100/200 loop antenna along with the radio. This little loop does wonders for AM reception because all built-in features of the PL-880 are also available for AM too. The magnificent set of filters enable the reception of weak stations that otherwise would be buried under the splatter of stronger stations on adjacent frequencies. Secondly, the sound of the amplifier is so good that it enhances the end result, that is, it makes weak stations to come in far clearer than a traditional portable radio would bring them in. But DO use the loop antenna!

Thanks Anna for exceptional communication. Best SW radio that I have ever used. Excellent sensitivity and selectivity. Great speaker sound and top class construction. Love the coarse and fine tuning knobs. Intuitive design of controls. Bit deaf on MW although LW good. FM excellent. Manual very comprehensive and good intelligeable English. Love the flexi tip on whip antenna although no MW/LW antenna jack. Might buy a third one as a present.

Soy de Argentina , recomiendo 100% el servicio de Anon-co, realmente muy satisfecho .
En cuanto al receptor , es sin duda uno de los mejores, por precio , calidad y performance . Muy buena idea usar la bateria 18650 en vez de las AA comunes, creo que deberia ser un standar para todos los equipos portatiles.

I found the Special Edition deluxe set for about the same price as I could find the PL-880 on it's own and I took a chance on the no extra tax or duties promise. They sure came through.
I didn't appreciate that this set comes with an ICR-100 thrown in and brilliant as the PL0-880 is that little white box is just amazing. Apart from being a great little FM receiver and MP3-player/recorder it plugs into the PL-880 and serves as a second speaker. Terrific sound from both of them.
I'm still exploring the PL-880 feature set, which is extensive, but it is really easy to use compared to the Roberts R809 that it's replaced. The sound is excellent too, from such a small package and plug in the ICL-100 to get a great stereo sound.
Everything is there and it works well. Alarm and sleep function are easy to use which is important to me. The tuning and volume knobs are smooth, the whole thing has a feel of quality and looks great too.
Battery life is impressive and USB charging means no clumsy adapters to carry around.
I haven't had time to explore all the features of this amazing machine but the reception so far is streets ahead of anything I've owned before.
The only slight niggle is the keylock is through a button on the front which leaves me wondering if it's not possible to turn off accidentally if the case gets squeezed. It hasn't happened and probably won't but I'd prefer a switch on the side. It's hardly a problem though.
Overall I can't recommend this

This is the finest portable radio receiver coming out of China these days. Great size, great sound, all control buttons/knobs are in the right place. Sensitivity is exceptional on all bands. I can't say enough about this radio.
Service from Anon-Co is great. The radio came well packaged and very quickly.

This will not be a review of the device, since I just got the package and it's my first receiver in a long time. But I'll say it looks wonderful and I read only good things about Tecsun PL-880 (that's the main reason I chose this model).
The box contains the receiver itself, a nice and handy pouch, charger (with an adapter for Europe) and USB cable, headphones, an antenna for shortwave listening, a nice huge map with amateur radio codes and information about the receiver itself, a manual (in English) and a brochure in Chinese, but it has a nice table where you can write down stations and frequencies. It did not include the battery, but the seller made this very clear before ordering: apparently there are some issues with batteries being processed by Honk Kong post office, so I had to buy one (18650 Li-ion rechargeable), but if you chose FedEx shipping, you get a battery and a significant increase in transport fees.
Shipping took exactly two weeks, which was the minimum time expected by me. Also, the seller was very prompt and kind and answering all my questions and also willing to fulfill all your decent request regarding shipping. Great customer service, will recommend this to anyone that needs a new receiver or accessories.
It was a pleasure dealing with Anon-Co.
